Our Curriculum
It is our belief that short-cuts and gimmicks can never replace long-term, consistent preparation. Elite's curriculum is geared towards academic confidence and a solid intellectual foundation. Many of our students have been attending the Academy since third grade, going through courses one level at a time. By the time they become Juniors in high school, the years of consistent preparation will have eliminated the need for last minute cramming.
Elite Academy offers a diverse curriculum to suit any student's needs:
- Math, English, Science, and Writing classes for grades three through twelve
- SAT I and PSAT
- SAT II (Chemistry, Biology, and Physics), TOEFL, and ESL
- Writing courses: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced, SAT II Writing, college admission essays
- Reading courses: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced
- Entrance examination preparations for Hunter College High School and the New York or New Jersey specialized High Schools: Stuyvesant, Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech, Bergen Academy (NJ)
- Advanced math research courses that prepare students for the American Mathematics Competition (AMC), MATHCOUNTS, PLUS. (Calculus is concurrently taught in some of these courses.)
- Preparations for SSAT, ISEE, Terranova, NJASK, and other standardized tests
The comprehensive curriculum provides flexibility in meeting the needs of students. For example, if a student excels in Math but needs special attention in English, the student can be placed in different levels for the two subjects.
