The School Year
Elite divides the schoolyear into three: Fall, Spring, and Summer. The fall term is 14 weeks, spring is 22 , and summer is 7 1/2. During the fall and spring terms, Elite holds classes every day of the week except Mondays and Sundays. Saturdays, with morning and afternoon sessions each lasting about four hours, offer the most number of classes. Summer classes, on the other hand, run daily except Saturday and Sunday. During the summer, Elite students cover what they will be learning in the upcoming school year, thereby gaining considerable advantage over their peers.

Quiz, Classwork, and Homework
Students begin every session by taking a proctored quiz that covers both Math and English. The quiz consists of materials covered in the classwork and reinforced by the homework from the previous session. The results are returned during class so that students and teachers have ample opportunity to review mistakes.

Classwork, which covers new materials, stresses a thorough understanding of underlying basic principles and their applications. Homework, on the other hand, reinforces those concepts and principles. Students are required to hand in homework every class. It is then graded and returned to them.

Teachers
The teachers selected by Elite reflect our long-term, fundamental approach to quality education. Elite teachers hold professional degrees in education, in addition to degrees in their fields of specialty. Many of them teach at area schools such as Stuyvesant and Bronx Science during the week.

Elite students receive quality education and adjust to their school environment because they are taught by professional teachers who love what they do. The same teacher stays with a group of students over the course of the entire semester, developing a special rapport with them and creating an atmosphere conducive to learning. At Elite, learning starts with good teaching.

Report Cards
Twice every semester, Elite sends out report cards that show quiz grades, homework grades, and other comments or means of assessment.

Open House Test and Placement
Every spring, Elite conducts an Open House Test where top achievers get summer scholarships. The test, which is free and open to any student, lasts for about two hours and covers English and Math. Detailed reports of the test are sent to the students to help them realize their strengths and weaknesses. The test also guides us in correctly placing students in the right level for our classes.

Students who missed the Open House may schedule for a test appointment with us. Although those who take the test outside of the regular Open House schedule do not qualify for scholarship, detailed reports of the results are also sent to them for their information and guidance.

College Trip
Elite offers a college visitation program every summer. This gives our students the opportunity to experience firsthand some of the nation's top universities such as Harvard. Yale, and MIT. Elite students get a full tour of the universities while having the opportunity to talk with the college students about various aspects of their schools.
